Highgate Toastmasters

I'm a CPA Accountant who has been a member of Toastmasters for around 6 years. I find that Toastmasters has not only helped me in my personal life but has made a massive impact on my career. It is really important to be able to communicate properly to everyone at all levels in your organisation and Toastmasters has helped me be able to achieve this goal.

Hi there. I've been a member of Highgate Toastmasters since February 2011. I have developed self-confidence as well as my public speaking skills. Come along to our next meeting to find out what Toastmasters is all about!

I joined in late 2019, hoping to gain more confidence with interviews and public speaking. I chose Highgate because of the convenient location and I have stayed because it's a tight-knit and welcoming group. The experienced members are dynamic and inspiring speakers, and I have learned so much from them. I have developed more confidence and skills with speaking and have improved my capacity for providing feedback.

I joined in 2023 to practice and improve my in-person public speaking. I am often on online meetings; training sessions and conferences speaking to large groups and find less and less I am at in person events. I have enjoyed the community and encouragement of the Highgate Toastmasters and look forward to many more meetings.

I've been oinking my way through Highgate club meetings for as long as I can remember!  To teach our members how to deliver a concise message, all speaking roles at our club meetings are timeboxed. It's my job to oink as loud as I can to remind our more passionate speakers it's time to wrap things up and get off stage!
